The shower head, any screen and the way the room is used affect where water reaches. Have a professional assess the finish and underlying assembly for each zone. A neat half-height pattern should not determine an unsuitable finish in a directly wet area.<\/p><h2>Full-height tiling: benefits and trade-offs<\/h2><p>Tiles to the ceiling can create a continuous look and reduce transitions between wall finishes. There is more tiled area and potentially more grout and installation work. Compare quotations including preparation, materials, finishing and labour; the total depends on the room and selections.<\/p><p>Higher tiles do not remove the need for cleaning or ventilation. Check suitable cleaning products and whether high areas are reachable. Check whether the upper finish suits its expected moisture exposure and what maintenance it needs.<\/p><h2>Tile coverage and waterproofing are separate decisions<\/h2><p>Tile and grout together do not automatically make a waterproof wall.
