Kitchen renovation in The Hague, built around your life.

UNIT N designs and renovates kitchens in The Hague around one connected idea: a space that works comfortably and belongs in your home. We bring layout, materials and construction together. Tell us what you want to change so we can explore the possibilities and the work your project needs.

Design and execution

Kitchen renovation with UNIT N connects design and execution. Your agreed scope defines the alterations, installations and finishes included in the project.

Perhaps the dining table blocks a route, useful worktop space is limited or the kitchen feels disconnected from the rest of your home. We start with how you use the room: cooking, storing groceries, eating together and welcoming guests. These everyday situations give the design a practical starting point.

Our architectural approach looks beyond the arrangement of cabinets. A focused adjustment may make a substantial difference. In another home, a different relationship between kitchen and living space may be worth exploring. We consider these possibilities within the existing property and your available budget.

  • Where do you need more preparation or storage space?
  • Which existing elements would you like to retain?
  • What should the kitchen make easier for you?

A kitchen connects to floors, walls, lighting and neighbouring rooms. We consider how these elements come together so a new design can be carried through in the existing property. Your drawings or a plan from your own architect can provide a starting point; UNIT N also collaborates with external designers.

Kitchen design and installation are among our services. The project agreement identifies which preparation, building alterations and finishes UNIT N will provide, and which parts belong to you, a supplier or another party. This gives the collaboration a defined scope rather than relying on assumptions about what a kitchen renovation includes.

A different layout may affect services and preparation of the room. Depending on the agreed scope, demolition, plumbing, electrical work, plastering, tiling, flooring and carpentry can form part of the renovation. We assess possible alterations against your property and the chosen plan.

Appliances, kitchen components and the worktop need to follow the same design information. Product choices and relevant supplier details therefore belong in the conversation early. Our Knowledge Center provides focused preparation answers to support those decisions. They help you prepare for the project conversation; the project agreement defines what will be delivered.

Materials tell a story.

Rhythm and repetition: consider how lines, joints and cabinet fronts work together.

UNIT N guides material choices by considering appearance, quality, practical use and budget together. Cabinet fronts, worktops, floors, wall finishes and lighting should form a coherent room. Tell us which existing elements you would like to retain or reuse as well as what you want to replace.

We can manage sourcing and ordering within the agreed project. You can also purchase some materials yourself. In that case, responsibilities and the relationship to the construction schedule need to be clear. A material becomes a workable choice when its position, supply and installation responsibilities are understood.

Share the property location, your priorities, an indicative budget and preferred timing. An existing floor plan can help us discuss the space; professional photographs are not needed to begin. Tell us if you already have a kitchen design or a preferred supplier.

We discuss the work and develop a proposal around your project. Before construction, we align the scope, material choices and next steps. Necessary changes are discussed as the renovation progresses. At the end, the completed work and remaining finishing details are reviewed against the agreement.
